Towards implementing the European student eID

MyAcademicID Final Conference - 14-15 December 2020

Online (time zone CET)

The MyAcademicID project partners invite you to join the final conference to discover key results and outcomes of the project co-funded under the Connecting Europe Facility programme. The conference will present how project deliverables support the digital transformation of the Erasmus+ programme and present how higher education institutions can engage in this process.

MyAcademicID designed and deployed a platform to enable electronic identification and authentication for higher education students through a single European student eID scheme. The European Student eID for Higher Education is the result of the integration of eduGAIN, eIDAS and the European Student Identifier. This will pave the way for easy and secure access to electronic services, simplified administrative procedures and faster information exchange.

During the conference the team will present the use-cases that drove the work in MyAcademicID and the current deployment of the MyAcademicID platform.

The project plays a key role in implementing the vision of European Student Card Initiative, to guarantee starting from 2021 the secure and seamless exchange of student information between higher education institutions taking part in the Erasmus programme, and to give Erasmus students access to electronic services through a single sign-on when going abroad.

The conference is primarily targeting members of National Research and Education Networks that manage students’ accounts and ICT and international relation staff members of higher education institutions as well as European Student Card Initiative stakeholders.
