The year 2022 will be crucial for the digital future of the Erasmus administration. The renewal of our inter-institutional agreements will be done in a digital fashion and Higher Education Institutions need to support online learning agreements. And while many of us are still struggling to make it work, the next digitalisation steps are already awaiting around the corner with nominations and Transcript of Records to be exchanged in a digital manner. Moreover the European Student Identifier will both facilitate data exchanges and easy authentication for students.

We are delighted to inform the Higher Education community that for realising this digitalisation roadmap, the EWP+ Consortium has been selected by the European Commission to support you to make this happen.

For the next four years funding is available to offer better support to universities implementing the digitalisation roadmap. Transparency will be increased by establishing a new governance structure and by sharing more frequent updates for the HEI community about the state of play and next steps. Technical challenges and usability issues in the Erasmus Dashboard will be addressed and the Erasmus Without Paper Network will improve its services in order to facilitate more easy data exchanges between universities. Helpdesk services will be further enhanced. Moreover the consortium, together with a wide range of stakeholders, will lay the technical foundations for the further digitalisation of the Erasmus+ administrative processes.

We are pleased to announce that the following institutions joined forces in a consortium that will work on EWP+ throughout a four-year period:

  • European University Foundation (overall coordination,  governance)
  • Ghent University (outreach and communication)
  • University of Warsaw (interoperability network)
  • Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (HEI web applications)
  • Eötvös Loránd University (student web applications)
  • University of Porto (security and IIAm)
  • IBM and EWORX (software production environments and lifecycles)

The delivery of the EWP+ activities will also involve the DAAD, GEANT, the University of Barcelona and the University of Paris-Saclay, as well as a broad range of stakeholders (ESN, LLLP and all National Agencies, among others).
